Biography

Moses Leonard, Jr., was born on 1 November 1706 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He and Harriet Beulah Rice were married about 1734. He and Hannah Gassett were married on 22 September 1782. He died on 24 October 1788 at age 81 in Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts. He was buried at Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, Massachusetts.
His father deeded a farm to him 2 March 1732 in Brookfield, where the father and son were then living. He also had land in Worcester and lived there several years. His first two children were born there. The family then moved to Rutland, MA, now Barre. He was for many years selectman and town treasurer. He sold his land in Worcester in 1738 and then bought land in Rutland/Barre. He sold his land in Rutland/Barre in 1778 to Francis Nurse. He then removed to Warwick, which was incorporated in 1763. Some of his children were already living in Warwick. Moses Leonard, Jr., had person sources.1

Ezra Leonard was born on 19 September 1711 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He and Olive Smith were married on 1 June 1737 in Hardwick, Massachusetts. He died on 29 June 1798 at age 86 in South Wilbraham, Massachusetts. He was buried at Cemetery in South Wilbraham, Massachusetts.
He was living in Brookfield in September 1735 and in Hardwick the following October. He held a commission as an ensign and served in Capt. Joseph Warner's company that marched to the relief of Fort William Henry in 1757 during the French and Indian War 1755-1763. He also served in the Revolutionary War (DAR). In 1797 he moved to South Wilbraham. Ezra Leonard had person sources.1

Samuel Robinson was born on 1 April 1707 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He and Mercy Leonard were married on 29 May 1732 in Hardwick, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He died on 27 October 1767 at age 60 in London, Middlesex, England.
He moved to Hardwick, MA, in 1735 and from there to New Hampshire Grants, as Vermont was then known, in 1761, settling in Bennington. He was made a Justice of the Peace by NH Gov. Wentworth, which led to a struggle between NH and NY authorities over jurisdiction.

Biography

Jonas Leonard was born on 9 October 1717 in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He and Eunice Torrey were married on 6 February 1745. He died on 13 October 1757 at age 40 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
In 1739, his father deed him 101 acres in Rutland, calling him a cordwainer. Later, he removed to Boston, where he kept the Lamb Tavern.

He was guardian of Eunice, Elizabeth and James Barber, minor children of Hezekiah Barber, blacksmith. It is not known whether he had any children of his own. None are found by either wife. Jonas Leonard had person sources.1 He was born on 19 October 1717 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He and Eunice Torrey were married on 21 February 1745 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

Amos Leonard was born on 15 March 1748 in Rutland/Oakham, Massachusetts. He and Marcy Sweatland were married on 17 October 1788 in Granby, Massachusetts. He died on 26 March 1825 at age 77 in Solon, Cortland County, New York.
He was a soldier in the Revolutionary Army, serving nearly seven years under three separate enlistments (DAR). He was not a very large man, rather light complexioned, with light hair and blue eyes, was very nervous. They were among the early settlers of Paris, Oneida Co, NY, where they resided from 1795 to 1821. He applied for a pension based on his Revolutionary War service on 1 Apr 1818 in Oneida Co., NY, at age 69. DAR Patriot Index.

Administration of his estate was granted to son Amos Leonard, Jr 14 September 1825 (CorCW W:211). Also mentioned in Harriott Leonard Standish's Leonard Dictionary and Dougherty, The Beekman Patent. Amos Leonard had person sources.1
