Information is from Bill Regester, who got it from the 1881 census for Ecclesall Bierlow reg. 4630 14 22. He was a tailors shear and scissor cutler living at Ct 1 House 1, Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorkshire, England. Same for 1891 Census. In the 1901 Census, the family was living at 58 Carver Street, Ecclesall Bierlow. Henry and his son John were listed as scissorsmiths, crossed out, butler written in. By 1911, Henry was dead; Sarah headed the household, and John William, Blanche, and Florence were living with her at 88 Williams St.

Henry and Herbert were living with their grandparents, George and Mary, in the 1851 Census.

In the 1930 Census, he was a foreman in a printing company and lived at 292 Vermont Avenue, Providence, RI, with his wife and daughter and his stepfather, Willis Groves, 67. His mother had died in 1925. Charles Fred Cross lived in District 2 Providence city Ward 1, Providence, Rhode Island, in 1900. He lived in Providence Ward 1, Providence, Rhode Island, in 1910.

Maud L. Kells was born on 18 August 1867 in Hudson, Columbia County, New York. Edward M. Smith and she were married on 30 June 1885 in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. They were married by Rev. George Sheve. Or Shene?1 Charles F. Meilink and she were married on 13 May 1891 in Cook County, Illinois. She died on 18 December 1942 at age 75 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
The 1880 Census lists her as Maud L. Kells. It's definitely an "L."

She was 20 when she and Edward Smith married. Image of record not available on Internet. Page 66, Vol. 361. A Maud L. Kells was born March 1885 in Pittsfield.

A Maud Victoria Kells is listed as a nurse from Sheffield in the soldiers of the Great War (World War I) from Massachusetts -- "Soldiers of the Great War," Volume 2, page 34, but this was another Maud Kells. There may have been a Maud Victoria Kells b. in 1889 in Sheffield, MA, vol. 384, page 84, image not available to check. See Kells, Maud V. Vault Map Dr. #5, p. 10, Sheffield Veterans Graves, 974.43, Sh3.3. Berk Collect. She was listed as Miss Maud Kells and living in Detroit, MI, in the Pittsfield Evening Sun's obituary for her father in 1909.

In the 1889 Providence City Directory (census substitute), he was a bookkeeper at the Commercial National Bank, 53 Westminster St., living at 59 John St.

Frank was a banker. In the 1900 Census, he is listed as a teller in a bank. The family was living at 477 Hope Street in Providence. His father and mother were living with them. Name is sometimes spelled Peabody and sometimes Peabodie (Peabody on the grave stone).

In the 1930 Census, he was lodging at 168 Elmwood Avenue, Providence, with the Peter Dethoff family.

He's buried in the Fitz Peabody plot in North Burial Ground, Bristol, as are both wives.

He was "highly respected as an eminent physician of his times in Agawam, MA." On his tombstone is "He sought after Wisdom, and found her dwelling with Honesty." He was the first physician to practice in Springfield. Dr. John Leonard had person sources.1
