Phebe Munro Leonard was born on 12 March 1820 in Bristol, Rhode Island.¹ George P. Pearse and she were married before 25 July 1840 in Bristol, Bristol County, Rhode Island.² Fitz Herbert Peabody and she were married on 18 May 1848 in State Street Methodist Church, Bristol, Rhode Island. Bristol Phenix of 20 May 1848, p. 3. She died on 23 January 1902 at age 81 in Bristol, Rhode Island.¹ She was buried at Lot 653-654 in North Burial Ground, Bristol, Rhode Island.

Peabody genealogy gives her the name Phebe Monroe Pearse, but gravestone indicates her maiden name as Leonard. Her father was born in MA and her mother in RI. She married (1) George Pearse, probably the source of the Peabody genealogy Pearse. She is buried with her husband, Abigail Leonard, her mother, and various other relatives.

Her middle name is also listed as Minerva. Her death certificate lists it as Munro. Munro seems likely, given her ancestry.

She died of insufficiency of the mitral and pulmonary valves, cardiac hypertrophy and dilitation, and senile marasmus. She was living at 477 Hope Street in Providence when she died.

She was a member of the D.A.R. Phebe Munro Leonard had person sources.¹
