Biography

Jemima Parkhurst was born in 1755 in Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey. Isaac Leonard and she were married in 1773.
Both Isaac and Silas are said to have married Jemima Parkhurst. There were at least two Jemima Parkhursts, in Morristown, probably more. One was the daughter of John Parkhurst and Mary Thomson; the other the daughter of Benjamin Parkhurst and Mary Ludlow. One was born in 1753 and the other in 1755. One was born 13 July and the other 13 October. One may have been a twin. Both were married in 1773. They died at a variety of years: 1756, the 1770's, 1796. They both had children between 1776 and 1796. The misinformation is thorough scrambled and oft repeated. Jemima Parkhurst had person sources.1

Phebe Fobes was born on 4 April 1679 in Little Compton, Newport County, Rhode Island. Lt. Joseph Seabury and she were married on 25 September 1701 in Little Compton, Rhode Island. She died on 21 April 1715 at age 36 in Little Compton, Rhode Island. She was buried at Commons Cemetery in Little Compton, Rhode Island.
Phebe Fobes was also known as Phebe Fobes Smith. There's no proof her maiden name was Fobes or that she descended from William Fobes. "Silver" book on John Alden and Priscilla Mullens does not indicate William had a daughter named Phebe. Recheck! Silver Book #16 lists her as Phebe ---- Smith.

William Fobes' will proved 4 Dec 1712 in Bristol, MA, (pp. 296-299) names an unnamed daughter, wife of son-in-law Joseph Seabury (see RI Genealogical Register, Jan 1986, Little Compton Wills, p. 253, Margaret L. Beaman). Joseph Seabury is recorded as marrying Phebe Fobes.
