He arrived in Lenawee Co., MI, sometime before or about 1844. In the 1850 Census, he, wife Cynthia, and children Silas, Anson, and Lucinda (latter all born in MI), were living in Dover, Lenawee Co., MI. Lester was 34 and Cynthia, 26, both born in NY. Lester was a farmer.
In the 1870 Census, Lester and Cynthia were living in Fairfield, Lenawee Co., MI. Lester was 54 and Cynthia 46. Lester was a well-to-do farmer. Lucinda, 22, Harriet, 20, and Charles, 18, were living at home. I can't find an Anson Leonard born in MI in the 1870 Census, although there is a Lanson Leonard, 26, farmer, wife Martha, 26, and daughter Florence, 8, living in Fairfield. There is no Silas Leonard, and there is no Harrison Leonard born in Michigan in the 1870 Census.
In the 1880 Census, Lester, 64, farmer, and Cynthia, 55, were living in Fairfield. Daughters Lucinda, 32, and Hattie, 30, were living with them. Next door were Anson Leonard, 35, wife Florence, 35, and daughters Florence, 13, and Bessie, 2.
Steve Carven, a descendant, is in possession of Lester Leonard's family Bible. Lester Leonard had person sources.

He was one of the early settlers of Manton, a carpenter who built many of the local houses. He also served as a justice of the peace, treasurer, and highway commissioner. Later he took up farming.
