Catherine DuBois was born about 1789. John Leonard and she were married on 1 January 1808 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. She died on 27 June 1849 at age ~60 in Baptistown, Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
John Leonard and Catherine DuBois were married in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Catherine died 217 June 1849 in Baptistown at 59 years of age. In the summer of 1849, the brain fever, as it was called, broke out in the Leonard family and in the space of 40 days a mother and five children were stricken down by the shaft of death. The 3 daughters who were at home at the time had the fever but recoverd. Cornelius Leonard died 16 June 1849, Matilda the 24th, Catherine the 27th, Robert N, July 2nd, William July 3rd, and Rebecca July 26th. The mother and 5 children are buried in Everittstown.

Her name is sometimes listed as Bulois.

Biography

Elizabeth Almy was born on 29 September 1663 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island. Capt. John Leonard and she were married about 1696 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. She died on 12 January 1715 at age 51 in Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey.
Elizabeth was born in Rhode Island. Her father, Christopher, was engaged in coastal shipping. Christopher and family lived on an estate, Passage Point, at the east end of the neck of land between the Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers, later the property of his son-in-law, Lewis Morris. Elizabeth married Lewis by April 1679. Lewis was killed by one of his Negroes in 1694/5.
