Biography

Gilbert Leonard was born in 1773 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He and Polly Gary were married on 12 October 1788 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 He died in 1801 at age ~28 in Calais, Washington County, Vermont.
He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War with Washington. He moved to Calais, VT, about 1800. His estate was appraised in 1801.

Biography

Thomas M. Leonard was born about 1809 in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey.
He appears in the 1850 Census for NJ in Hoboken, Hudson Co., as a waterman, along with his wife, Phoebe, and sons Joseph D. and William D. There's no proof that he's a son of Samuel; he may be a son of Nathaniel or another unnamed child of Joseph and Sarah.

In the 1860 and 1870 Censuses, Joseph D. is a farmer in Middletown, Monmouth Co.

Biography

Elbridge Gerry Leonard was born about 1775.
According to ECL, he went away as a young man. There's another Elbridge Gerry Leonard, son of Abiathar. Was this one named after the first one?

A Gerry Leonard, born May 1830 in NY, appears in Lyons, Wayne Co., NY, in the 1850 and subsequent censuses. He was a merchant grocer. His wife Clara was born in 1836 in NY and died in the 1880's. He then married Ella b. Aug 1852 in 1891. Children: Mary b. 1859, Louise b. 1863, Eddie or Edwin b. Feb 1865, and Fred or Fredrick b. Nov. 1869. Other Leonards in Lyons include Eveline, b. March 1839, Charles and Luella b. Feb 1851 with 7 children, Harlow b. Apr 1851 and Cora E. b. Dec 1859 with children Charles b Jan 1889 and Martha b. July 1872(?). Sons or grandsons of Elbridge Gerry Leonard? No Elbridge or Gerry Leonard in Wayne Co. Censuses before 1850.

An Edward King Leonard, son of Elbridge Gerry Leonard, and Clarissa King, b. February 7, 1865, married October 9, 1889 Mary Teresa Habten at Blossdale, NY. He was of Lyons, Wayne Co., NY.

There was an Elbridge T. Leonard b. abt. 1850, m. Alice, living in Tioga, Tioga Co., NY in the 1850-70 timeframe.

The Jacob Longyear genealogy has a note that Hazel May Leonard, daughter of Elbridge Philip Leonard and Hattie K. Parmenter, b. March 28, 1891 in Kearney, NE, m. Walter Easton Osborne. Elbridge Gerry Leonard had person sources.1

Isaac Leonard was born on 25 January 1772 in Easton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He and Ruth Fuller were married on 15 December 1796 in Easton, Massachusetts. Per Sharon Marriages.1,2 He and Ruth Harlow Howard were married on 23 May 1841. He died on 12 August 1858 at age 86 in Canada.
According to ECL, Isaac received the Brummagen Forge, grist mill, and coal house in Easton in 1800 and sold it in 1802. In 1804, he sold the Leonard homestead there to Oliver Ames. In 1850, he and his wife were living in Pittsford, Rutland Co., VT. Isaac Leonard had person sources.3,4
