Capen Leonard was born on 22 September 1808 in Pittsford, Rutland County, Vermont. He and Mary Ann Dike were married on 26 November 1832 in Vermont. He died in 1894 at age ~86 in Vermont.

He was a State Senator in VT. He was prominent in his town and held every office at one time or another.

There is a Capen Leonard, 38, a farmer, living with his wife, Mary, 38, in Chttendon, Rutland Co., VT in the 1850 Census. In the 1870 Census, he was a farmer living in Andover, Windsor Co., VT, with his wife Mary A. There was a Thomas and Hannah Leonard about the same age living nearby. If they had any children, they don't show in the censuses. Capen Leonard had person sources.¹

In the 1850 Census, he was living in Collins, Erie Co., NY with a daughter or granddaughter, Fanny Leonard, 16. He was a carpenter/joiner. Living close by were James and Clarinda Leonard, both 24, and their newborn daughter, Ella A. All three were born in New York. James was a shoe maker.

Which Simeon Leonard married Anna Adams, this one or the one born in 1791? Did he die in 1854 or 1864? Simeon Field Leonard had person sources.^1,2
