Biography

Ephraim Leonard was born on 7 May 1771 in Hanover Township, Morris County, New Jersey. He and Jerusha Rose were married about 1792. He and Nancy Martin were married about 1818. He died on 16 April 1843 at age 71 in Newark, New Jersey.

According to the journal of Stephen Rose Leonard, he was 72 years, 3 months, and 7 days old when he died. Children are from that same journal. Ephraim Leonard had person sources.¹

Biography

James Leonard was born on 8 August 1774 in Hanover Township, Morris County, New Jersey.¹ He and Susannah Campfield were married on 17 March 1803 in Hanover, Morris County, New Jersey. He died on 31 March 1854 at age 79 in Throopsville, Cayuga County, New York. He was buried at Rural Cemetery in Throopsville, Cayuga County, New York.

He last lived in Cayuga Co., NY, where he brought up his family, according to the journal of Stephen Rose Leonard. According to George Bement Leonard, he grew up in New Jersey, purchased from a Revolutionary soldier Lot No. 4 in Throop Township, Cayuga Co., NY, and lived there the rest of his life. The farm continued in family ownership until 1914.

ECL has James5, Josiah4, Stephen3, James2-1, leaving out Paul, on a handwritten page between 197 and 198. George Bement Leonard also has this. James Leonard had person sources.²
