Artemas King was born on 7 September 1783 in Raynham, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 He and Sally Byram were married after 11 May 1811 in Raynham, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He died on 15 May 1863 at age 79 in Mansfield, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
At the time of the 1850 Census, Artemas, wife Sally, and children Sarah, Charles, Laroy, and Andrew were living at home in Mansfield, Bristol Co., MA. Artemas was a farmer with real estate worth $3000. Norman was a farm hand.

Biography

Artemas Calvin King was born on 16 September 1812 in Raynham, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1
At the time of the 1850 Census, Artemas and his wife Julia were living in Mansfield, Bristol Co., MA, with their three children. Artemas was a shoe maker. That part of Massachusetts, including Brockton and Middleboro, became a leading area for shoemaking in the United States in the late 1800's.

At the time of the 1860 Census, Artemas and Julia were living in Norton, where Artemas was a hotel keeper. There were no children living at home.
