Foulk Davis

Foulk Davis was born in 1615 in Glamorganshire, Wales. He and
Mary Haynes were married. He died in 1687 at age ~72 in Jamaica, Livingsont County, New York.
The Davis lineage goes back to the 1500's in Acton-Turville, Glocestershire, England. John and Thomas Davys are listed there in 1522.
Fulk Davis was a tenant farmer. He served as a gardener for Lyon (or Lion) Gardiner, purchaser of Gardiners Island off Long Island. He was granted two acres of land in Southampton, Long Island, on 8 Oct 1642. Before 1674 he moved to Jamaica, Long Island.
Goody Davis, his first wife, was a weaver and taught the children to weave. Sons Joseph and Jonathan were weavers, and grandson Charles Salyer was also a weaver in Woodbridge, NJ.

He arrived in Boston in August 1638 on the Diligent out of Ipswitch, carrying passengers from Norfolk, England, settling initially in Hingham. He removed to Rehoboth in 1642.
