In the 1870 Census, Seth was a farmer living with his family in Coleraine (Shattuckville P.O.), Franklin Co., MA. In the 1880 Census, he was a farmer living in Conway, Franklin Co., MA, with his wife, family, and married daughter Sarah. Most of the family was working in a cotton mill.

John Leonard

John Leonard was born on 12 March 1778 in Shaftsbury, Vermont. He and
Lucina Wright were married on 9 October 1825. He died on 23 April 1869 at age 91 in Orwell, Vermont.
He was initially engaged in the merchantile business in Middlebury, later in Orwell. He also built a flouring mill, one for carding wool and dressing cloth, and two for the manufacture of lumber. Later he built on Lake Champlain three miles distant from his residence, a large wharf, store, storehouses, hotel, etc. This port afforded an outlet for the marble, manganese, and manufactures of the insland towns and an inlet for the goods which those towns required. He was averse to public life, although he filled at various times nearly all of the offices of the town. He was an ardent sportsman who owned 26 hounds. John Leonard had person sources.

Luther Leonard

Luther Leonard was born on 26 June 1786 in Orwell, Vermont. He and
Margaret Gantley were married in January 1817. He died on 11 February 1865 at age 78 in Somerville, Massachusetts.
While in his junior year at Middlebury, he received an appointment to West Point. He was Plattsburgh and Niagara, then in 1815, New York harbor, later at Ft. Independence, Boston, in 1818 Castine, ME, and in 1819 at Marblehead. When the government reduced the standing Army in 1821, he was one of those "left out." In 1821 he received an appointment as trader to the Indians at St. Peters, Minnesota. He was later at Ft. Winnebago, late at Jefferson Barracks and at Rock Island. He was military store keeper at LIberty, MO from 1846 to 1856. He was then transferred to Watertown Arsenal. His sight became obsured by cataracts and he retired in 1862. He placed himself in McLean Asylum in Somerville, MA, in 1862 and died there in 1864. Luther Leonard had person sources.
