Biography

Ebenezer Leonard was born on 10 January 1693/94 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He and Joanna Stevenson were married on 22 March 1722 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He and Hannah Barber were married on 2 July 1761 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He died MAYBE 1769 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.¹

This Ebenezer is often confused with his son, according to Donald Jacobus. This is in conformance with his research. The probate shows that he was the husband of Martha who died early in 1762, and thus this Ebenezer's identity is established. Note that Vinton also has this Ebenezer the husband of Martha Miller. "Descendants of John Scott" has Ebenezer, son of Benjamin, as the husband of Martha Miller. So does "Pedigree of Edgar Francis Waterman."

His will was dated 19 Feb 1768, but not recorded until July 1790 naming son Joel and daughters Rhoda, Rebecca, Eunice, and Mary.

Thomas B. Warren has this Ebenezer as the son of Joseph Leonard and Rebecca Dumbleton. Sarah Scott married someone else. Ebenezer Leonard had person sources.^2,3,4
