The couple appear to have had four children survive into adulthood. Elsa died when their youngest daughter Amanda was just sixteen. The 1850 federal census population schedule finds the couple's sons, Erastus and Henry, married and with their own families, while daughter Keziah lives in a home withunrelated individuals. Amanda's whereabouts in 1850 are undetermined. After 1860, the widowed Ephraim appears to have relocated to Windsor County, VT, in close proximity to his eldest daughter, Keziah.
