Hon. Stephen Banks Leonard was buried at Presbyterian Burying Ground in Owego, Tioga County, New York. He moved with his parents to Owego, NY at age 10 (1803). The house where he was born on Wall Street is now occupied by the Custom House. In Owego, he learned the printers art. He was employed in Southwick's printing office, along with Thurlow Weed. He was Postmaster 1816 to 1820 and 1844-1849, editor and publisher of the Owego Gazette, 1814 to 1835, and a member of Congress 1835-37 and 1839-41, elected first as a Jacksonian and second as a Democrat. He was also deputy US Marshal. After his terms in Congress, he became a farmer. He had person sources.

William Boardman Leonard was born on 19 June 1820 in Owego, Tioga County, New York. He and
Louisa Damon Buckley were married on 6 July 1847. He died on 1 July 1893 at age 73. He was buried at All Saints Memorial Church in Navesink, Monmouth County, New Jersey.
He attended the public schools of Owego and Owego Academy. At the age of 16, he went to Trumansburg, NY, to live with an uncle, Herman Camp, and was employed as a clerk in his store. He later went to New York City as a salesman and afterward formed a partnership with Benjamin Pomeroy in the wholesale dry goods business. Upon dissolution of this firm, he became a partner in the firm of Hulburt, Sweetser, & Co., and yet later founded the banking house of Leonard, Sheldon, Foster & Co. at 10 Wall Street, where he was the senior partner. He lived in Brooklyn, NY. He was one of the first board of trustees in charge of building the first Brooklyn Bridge. He was a Democrat and was chairman of the electoral college in the Garfield-Hancock campaign. He twice refused the mayoralty of Brooklyn. He was musical. He was President of the Apollos Club. Sarah Leonard was born before 23 February 1636 in Publow Parish, Pencefield, Sommersetshire, England.
Robert Fairbanks and she were married on 6 August 1676 in Lambstown, Ireland.
John Thompson and she were married on 4 February 1679 in Salem County, New Jersey. She died about 1720 in Elsinboro, Salem County, New Jersey.
Sarah was baptized February 22, 1633/4 in Publow Parish, Somersetshire, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Leonard. Publow and adjacent Pensford are on the Chew River. Iron ore of good quality was mined nearby.
In 1677, she and Robert Fairbanks moved to New Jersey, sailing on the ship "Mary" of Dublin. They were married in Ireland in 1676. See NJ Archives, will of Robert Fairbanks. They were Quakers. Sarah married (2) John Thompson. In her will of May 23, 1720, Sarah Thompson of Elsenburgh, Salem Co, NJ, names her "kinsmen Henry Leonard of Cape May and Thomas Leonard of East Jersey" and children of "brother James Leonard. " She mentions a granddaughter, Lydia, daughter of Thomas and Mary Thompson, Henry, son of Samuel Stubbins, John, Jane, Ann, Elizabeth, and James, children of James Thompson, Rachel Tyler, daughter of Thomas Thompson. She apparently had no children of her own. Sarah Leonard had person sources.
