Biography

Constant Southworth was born in 1614 in Leyden, Holland. He and Elizabeth Collier were married on 2 November 1637 in Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts.¹ He died on 10 March 1679 at age ~65 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. He was buried on 11 March 1679 in Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

He came to Plymouth in 1628 on the White Angel. The cost of his passage and diet eleven weeks was three pounds, eleven shillinngs, four pence. He and his brother Thomas probably lived with his stepfather, Gov. William Bradford. He was admitted a freeman of Plymouth 1637 and moved to Duxbury shortly thereafter, receiving a grant of land near the North River. He held many government offices during his lifetime, including Assistant, Deputy, and Treasurer.

He was christened in December 1615 in Leiden, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. He and Elizabeth Collier were married on 2 November 1637 in Duxbury, Massachusetts.¹ He died on 10 March 1679 at age ~65 in Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts. He died on 11 March 1689 at age ~75 in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Biography

William Torrey was born on 21 December 1608 in Combe Saint Nicholas, Somersetshire, England. He and Agnes Combe were married on 17 March 1629/30 in Combe Saint Nicholas, Somerset, England. He and Jane Haviland were married about 1631. He and Elizabeth Frye were married about 1640 in Weymouth, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. William came to New England in 1640 with his son Samuel and brother Philip (NEHGS Reg 154:63). He was elected a member of the Royal Articllery of Boston and soon thereafter appointed a lieutenant. He became a captain in 1655. He was a deputy to the General Court from 1642 to 1650.
