Dorothy Stansbury Leonard was born on 14 September 1898. Siegel Wright Judd and she were married on 28 June 1922. She died on 14 February 1989 at age 90 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.
Dorothy did quite a bit of research on the Leonard family, including visiting England to check the areas of the early ironworkers. She came away from research over there convinced that the Leonards were indeed descendants of early French ironworkers and not English nobility (e.g., Sampson Leonard). Her Leonard family work is in the stacks at NEHGS. Material on her direct line comes from her work, with additions from checking census records. She deserved a lot more credit than she was ever given. Dorothy Stansbury Leonard had person sources.1
