Samuel Leonard was born in Aston Juxta Birmingham, Warwick, England. He and Mary Cook were married on 26 January 1845 in Saint Peter and Saint Paul's Church, Aston juxta Birmingham, Warwick, England.
Samuel was a gun finisher living in Duddeston when he married Mary. His father was a steel toy maker. They were both of "full age" when they married.

In the 1871 and 1881 Censuses, Samuel was living in Aston. Living in the household were his sister, Maria Weals, a widow, and Thomas Earp or Erp, a "visitor" and school child. In 1861 he was a boarder with Joseph Bayliss, b. 1792, and Louisa Bayliss, b. 1811.

Mary was a widow when she married Samuel Leonard. Her father was George Cook.

Albert Edward Leonard was born on 3 October 1865 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. He and Ada Elizabeth Hope were married on 11 September 1892 in Deritend - Bordersley - Saint Andrew, Warwickshire, England. Both could sign the marriage certificate. Fathers were Samuel Leonard, gun finisher, and Frederick William Hope, gun screwer. Witnesses were David Shakespeare and Caroline Hope.

There were a lot of Albert Edwards born about this time, so this one had to be checked out carefully. He died in 1918 at age ~53 in Aston Juxta Birmingham, Warwick, England. By this time, Aston had been absorbed by Birmingham.
He was a gun finisher. They lived at 63 Summer Street, Birmingham - St. George, at the time of the 1911 Census. Albert Edward Leonard was baptized on 1 May 1866 in Deritend - Saint John, Warwickshire, England.
