Parents
Family: Nancy Hall (b. 28 November 1787, d. 29 January 1836)
Biography
Seth Leonard was born on 5 May 1752 in Raynham, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
1 He and
Nancy Hall were married on 12 April 1807 in Roxbury, Suffolk, Massachusetts. He died on 20 October 1821 at age 69 in Raynham, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
2 ECL: He was a Revolutionary War pensioner. He was found dead in his house with the door locked. ECL says he died unmarried. His Revolutionary War pension file does not mention his parents, wife, children, or any relatives. He gives an accounting of his property and his debts and says: "My family consists of myself alone, aged sixty eight years, common laborer, able to perform not more than half a day's work in a day, and about half support myself." He signed with a mark; someone else supplied his signature. Seth Washburn, Daniel Woodward, and Asa White supplied testimonials in his behalf to Nahum Mitchell.
There was a Seth Leonard, a son of Moses Leonard of the Solomon Leonard line, who is said to have died in Raynham 20 October 1821 and died married to Nancy Hall. He and Nancy had 3 sons. There's ample room for confusion between the two, since people have assigned the same death date to both.. Seth Leonard had person sources.
