Biography

Silas Leonard was born on 15 February 1757 in Middleborough, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He and Anna Tyler were married in 1780 in Kent, Litchfield County, Connecticut. He and Hannah Hawley were married on 2 January 1797 in Kent, Litchfield County, Connecticut. He died on 15 December 1845 at age 88 in Kent, Litchfield County, Connecticut.
He was a soldier, corporal in the Revolutionary War. (See DAR) He moved from Middleborough to Kent in 1780, purchased a farm, and resided there until his death. He was fond of walking long distances and at one time walked to Boston and back.

On 25 August 1794, Silas Leonard of Kent, CT, yeoman, sold to Jonathan Leonard of Middleborugh his share of 68 acres given to them by their father's will.

This Joseph may have different parents. Check carefully! Silas Leonard had person sources.1

William C. Starratt was born on 6 October 1777 in Paradise, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. He and Susan Betts were married in 1805. He died on 10 April 1807 at age 29 in Paradise, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia.
William and one of his brothers were killed when a high bank of earth in which they were digging at the family mill caved in and buried them under several tons of earth.

An Abial Leonard, son of Jedidiah Leonard late of Bolton, a minor of about 16, in Lyme 24 January 1783 was sent to live with an Alexander McLean who became his guardian and put up a bond of 100 pounds to administer his estate.

An Abial Leonard of Coventry, CT, had son George, b. 7 Oct 1799 in Coventry and daughters Elmira, Emeline, and Barbara bapt. 7 Nov 1819.
