Parents
Biography
Susie A. Cope was born in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
Harrie C. Leonard and she were married on 7 April 1909.
"Susie was a character alright, You will see pictures of the house and it is pretty normal looking on the outside until you got inside. She was a hoarder. I still remember my shock as a child to go in there, there were literally narrow paths through the middle of the rooms with stuff stacked above my head from walls out to the path. You could not go upstairs because the entire upstairs was full and stuff piled high on down the stairs. When I met Merle, he was sleeping on the closed in porch as there was no place in the house anymore for him to sleep. It was bizarre to put it mildly, as Merle did not seem bothered by it at all. Susie was a nice lady, seemingly oblivious to the appearance." Lee Strong Fifield, e-mail, 10 Oct 2008. Susie A. Cope had person sources.

Biography
Merle Cope Leonard was born on 10 February 1910.
I saw some information you posted on Ancestry that seems related to research that I am doing. I have the Cope family bible and would be glad to send you copies of the births-marriage-deaths. I literally grew up with "Uncle Merle" and knew Susie Cope. Merle at that time was married to a lady named Blanche, who he divorced and was his last wife, he was married 5 times (no children). This is the first I have found of any other wives. His father and he had Cope Bottling Company in Taunton, Mass. later a bar called Timberlin Oaks. I have all the family albums and photos too. Although we have Leonard as a family name, never found how he was related. I have to tell you they (Susie and Merle) were very strange (hoarders), yet interesting. If I can be of help let me know, I am interested in how he met-married Pamela, I may have pictures of her, I don't know what she looked like.
