John Coombs

John Coombs was born about 1607 in England. He and
Sarah Priest were married about 1631. He died before 15 October 1646.
John Coombs was consistently referred to as "Mr." or "gent" he was constantly embroiled in situations that would have been more appropriate for someone at the opposite end of the social spectrum. As noted, he was disenfranchised for excessive drinking. He was also involved in several cases of debt, which he lost. William Spooner was his servant and took care of his children when he died and Mrs. Coombs returned to England.

John Coombs and she were married about 1631.
She came on The Anne in June 1623, age 8. She married about 1632. She apparently left her children with William Spooner when she returned to England in 1645. Her father came over on the Mayflower and hence all the children are Mayflower descendants.

He came over on the Mayflower from Leiden in 1620, dying soon after arrival. His wife remarried in Holland and came to America on the "Anne" in 1623 with Degory's two daughters and her new husband, Godbert Godbertson.
