John H. Kells was born in June 1864 in Nassau, Renssalaer County, New York. He and Emma Nye were married about 1890 in Renssalaer County, New York. He died on 20 August 1943 at age 79 in Nassau, Renssalaer County, New York. He was buried at Lot 271, Woodbine Cemetery, in Nassau, Rennselaer County, New York.
Doublecheck this is the son of John and Pamela. He lived at Brainard Station, NY.

Did he marry Emma and have a son, William?

John H. Kells was a farmer and lived on Kells Road in Nassau or Schodack, Renssalaer Co., NY. In the 1940 Census, he was living with his son, William J., there, as well as a son-in-law and daughter.

Theodore Kells was born about 1843 in Columbia County, New York. He and Mary E. were married about 1868 in New York. He died after 1920 in Hudson, Columbia County, New York.
He enlisted 20 Aug 1862 from Hillsdale, NY, in Co. I, NY 128th Infantry Regiment. He was mustered out on 12 Jul 1865 in Savannah, GA.

He was a railroad brakeman. In the 1870 Census, his brother Daniel was living with them in Hudson.

He apparently was the Charles Kells from Hillsdale who served in the Civil War in Co. I, 128th Infantry Regiment, NY Volunteers. He volunteered 20 Aug 1862 and was mustered out 12 Jul 1865 at Savannah, GA.

In the 1910 Census, a Charles Kells was widowed and living in New Baltimore, Greene Co., NY.
