Axel Severin Wickström was born on 4 November 1880 in Sweden. He and Tekla Maria Davidsdotter were married on 30 June 1913 in Providence, Rhode Island. He died in Rhode Island.

He came to America in 1897. At the time of his 1917 draft registration, he and Tekla were living at 158 Somerset Street in Providence. He was working for the jewelry firm of Arnold and Steere on Point Street in Providence. In the 1920 Census, he was a ring maker in a jewelry factory. At the time of the 1930 Census, he is listed as a jeweller. Later, he was a chauffer for a publishing company executive. He and Tekla were living at 71 Congdon Street in Providence.
