Biography

David Dewey was born on 28 June 1700 in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He and Abigail Ashley were married in 1724 in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He died in August 1746 at age 46 in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.
David was the 1st child of 5, 1st son of 4 (pages 728-29, #6407, Dewey Genealogy). He died at age 46 in Westfield, where he was a farmer and weaver. He was selectman in 1737, 1740, and 1741. He and his wife Abigail, along with Hannah, wife of Philip Loomis, joined the church March 12, 1727.

His wife Abigail was his second cousin, common great grandparents Thomas "The Settler" Dewey and his wife Frances Clark. David Dewey had person sources.1

Seabury Manchester was born on 6 June 1784 in Bristol, Rhode Island.1 He and Almy Luther were married on 26 October 1806 in Saint Michael's Church, Bristol, Rhode Island.2 He and Rhoda Diman were married on 18 April 1825 in Bristol, Rhode Island. He died on 1 December 1865 at age 81 in Bristol Neck, Bristol, Rhode Island.3 He was buried at Old North Burial Ground, #932, in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Seabury Manchester is listed as son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Manchester in Bk. 65, p. 736, Ct 2, RIVR. In "Sketches of Old Bristol," he is mentioned as a cooper in 1820. He was a cooper living on Bristol Neck when he died. Cause of death is listed as old age and general debility. Graves for Seabury and Almy, as well as son Seabury, are located in the same row as the Leonard (Mary Eddy Leonard Healey) monument, but near the south border of the cemetery, near the entrance on the south side.

The children were baptized in St. Michael's, Bristol. Information from a descendant of William Henry Manchester, Mariel Dionne Manchester, via e-mail 15 November 2008.

He died in Baltimore as a result of wounds suffered in the battle of Fredericksburg. He had one son, name unknown.
