Was he the Samuel living at Steelhouse Lane and buried in 1832? He lived in Aston.
There were four different Samuels born in the 1790's, and there is much confusion as to which wife and children belong with which Samuel. Was he the Samuel living on Bagot St. and dying 25 Feb 1830 at age 38, or the Samuel Leonard living on Steelhouse St. and dying 27 Jul 1832 at age 42? Or the Samuel Leonard living on Powell St. in Aston and dying 1 Mar 1866, age 73?

Samuel was a gun and pistol maker who started the family business in gunmaking. He lived in Aston and died in 1866.

Samuel bapt. 6 Sep 1791, parents Samuel and Sarah, per church records.

In the 1851 Census, Samuel was 59, living with wife Mary and son Samuel, 22, at 94 New John Street in St. George, Birmingham. Samuel Jr. was born and baptized in London and was also a gun implement maker. Samuel Leonard was christened on 6 September 1791 at Saint Philip's in Birmingham, Warwick, England.

William, baptized 25 Dec 1750, was the son of John and Frances Leonard, according to his baptismal record (MV24-4Q9). Which John and Frances Leonard is open to question. Was it the John Leonard b. 12 Jan 1730 in Warwickshire and Frances Brown bapt. 26 Jul 1730 in Hillmorton, Wawickshire?

He appears as a toy (metal parts?) maker on Aston Street in 1793 and same in jurors list for 1790.

There was a William Leonard bap. 12 Aug 1693 in Aston Juxta Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, father John Leonard (C011684, Source Call No. 0919792). Grandfather of this William?

A firm, William Leonard & Co., located on Aston Street in Birmingham, made steel sword handles, buckles, and buttons in the 1790's. William and his wife, Elizabeth, appear on a list of hair powder licensees at 12 Aston Street in 1795.

Did they have a son Charles, b. abt. 1780, m. Maria Wilday?
