His will probated 5 July 1853 in Rome, NY, doesn't list any children or grandchildren, but does list his two sisters and their children and his parents, Juba and Sophia (Badger, The Leonard Dictionary). Biography

Robert Leonard was born on 11 October 1764 in West Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He and Lucy Stevens were married on 15 October 1795 in Washington, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. He died on 20 May 1841 at age 76.1
This may or may not be the Robert Leonard b. abt. 1762, father Samuel?. who lived in upstate NY during the late 1700's. Remains to be proven.

A Robert Leonard served six years in the First NY Regiment in the Continental Army under General Washington and was awarded the Badge of Merit. He was a tailor by trade. He married 11 Aug 1785. His wife's name was Naomi b. abt. 1768, and she applied for his pension as his widow in 1843 after he died in 1841 (W24511).

They lived in Milton, Saratoga Co., NY, at time of birth of daughter, Mary, b. 1786. They moved to Troy, Rensselaer Co. in 1797. Robert Leonard had person sources.2 He and Lucy Stevens were married on 15 October 1795 in Washington, Berkshire, Massachusetts. He served in the military on 4 March 1836 in New York City, New York.
