Biography

Lt. Joseph Seabury was born on 8 January 1678 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. He and Phebe Fobes were married on 25 September 1701 in Little Compton, Rhode Island. He died on 22 August 1755 at age 77 in Tiverton, Newport County, Rhode Island. He was buried at Old Commons Cemetery in Little Compton, Rhode Island.

Lt. Joseph Seabury was buried at Commons Cemetery in Little Compton, Rhode Island. Will is in Tiverton records. He is mentioned in William Fobes' will as Fobes' son-in-law.

Joseph was admitted to the church in Little Compton 2 March 1712, dismissed to the the church in Tiverton 18 August 1746.

Gravestone reads: "In memory of Lieut Joseph Seabury, who died Aug ye 22, 1755 in ye 78th year of his age."

Doublecheck his birth and death dates. Alternative source says he was b. 8 January 1678 in Duxbury and d. 22 Aug 1755 in Little Compton. Also that he married Mercy Fobes, Phebe Smith, and Mary Ladd (ancestry.com). He had person sources.¹ He was born on 8 June 1678 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
