Smith, who was also the father of Fannie Lodema Smith Kells Wait and the husband of James' wife Cornelia, who was the daughter of Fannie Lodema's grandmother, Lodema Wait. Lodema Wait was the daughter of Bradford Wait's unknown parents. She was aunt to Fannie Lodema Smith, so when Fannie married Minor, Fannie was marrying her cousin.

Records say Orison Bradford Wait of Catskill is her son. She is also listed as living with B. O. Waite in the 1865 NY Census. This lists her as having had 6 children, 1 presently married, 1 widowed. She is listed as the mother of B. O. Waite. B. O. Waite, 52, wife Margaret, 50, son Richard, 31, wife Sarah, 37, their children J. B., 8, Emma, 6, Esther Wright, 73, and Elmira Smith, 23.

There is some question as to whether this is the right Omar W. Wait. Both parents were dead before Omar was 5, and it's not known who raised him and his brother. The burial information says that his father's name was William who was from England and his mother's name Smith. The latter is correct. Omar was a paint contractor in Alton, IL, and apparently spelled his name Omer. Omar W. Wait had person sources.
