He is probably the Oruson Wait (Orrison Wait) in Greene Co. in the 1840 Census, family of 3, the two adults being 20-29, one engaged in manufacture or trade, the child 5 to 9 (Richard?).

According to records, he moved to Catskill, Greene Co., in 1834. He was living there with his wife, Margaret, in the 1860 Census. He was a cartman. His son or brother Richard, wife Sarah, children Samuel B. and Emma, were living next door.

In the 1865 NY Census, the family included his wife, Margaret, Richard, his wife, and children, his mother, and a boarder, Almira or Elmira Smith, possibly the daughter of James N. Smith who was related to the family through marriage.

She is listed as Margaret Hollenbester or Hollenbeck in son Richard's third marriage to Nancy Shoemaker. Another copy lists her as Margaret Hollenbeck. There are no Hollenbesters listed in Greene County, but the nearest appears to be Jehoikim or Jehoiakim Hollenbeck (Hallenbeck?) listed in Coxsackie, Greene County, in the 1830 Census with 5 children and the parents 20-29. There are no other Hollenbeck/Hallenbecks in Greene Co. in 1830. Jehoiakim C. is born later, but Jehoiakim H. appears on the tax rolls in 1862 as a retail merchant. The children appear in the 1850 Census in Athens, Greene County. There are also Hollenbeck/Hallenbecks in Columbia County. The 1855 NY Census lists her as having been born in Ulster County.

A Catherine Holenbeck, 61 (b. 1794) is listed as living with the Courtland family in the 1855 NY Census, on the same page, but different household than, the Wait family.
