Mary Williams were married about 1814 in New York. He died on 20 January 1847 at age 64 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
Family of Lois Leonard Badger, author of "The Leonard Dictionary." He served in the War of 1812 as a private and received a pension for that service. Actually, he served on a privateer. He married after returning from the War. He was a boot and shoemaker and was appointed inspector of leather by the Governor of NY. He died of disease and congestion of the lungs.

Silas Rice and she were married. She died on 22 June 1857 at age 72 in Illinois.
She married a Mr. Rice who lived in Covington, IN, and Danville, Vermillion Co., IL. He went as a soldier in the Black Hawk War and was never heard from again. They had eight children: Lucy married Isaac Ballangee and lived at Kanawa, VA. Isaac served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. Lucy and Isaac had 11 children. James J. and Silas lived in IN or IL. Silas moved to IA, died,and left 1 child. The other children lived in IL or IN.

Seth Leonard

Seth Leonard was born on 30 April 1786 in Rome, Oneida County NY. He and
Urania Cassell were married about 1815. He died on 11 December 1868 at age 82 in Shabbon, DeKalb County, Illinois.
After serving in the War of 1812 as a private in Capt. Ichabod Cole's (Oneida) Company, NY Militia, he moved west, buying from the Holland Land Co. 120 acres on the west side of the Oak Orchard Road at the south border of Gaines, NY.
Seth and Jane had three children, Fanny, Evaline, and Seth, Jr. Seth, Jr. died as a young man.
The Family Bible in possession of the Sheffield family has Seth born 30 Apr 1788.

Ephraim C. Leonard was born on 24 December 1794 in Lansingburgh, New York. He and
Mercy Wickham were married on 17 December 1823. He died on 30 December 1868 at age 74 in Albion, Orleans County, New York. Or did he die in Gaines, Orleans Co., NY? He was buried in Lot 461, Mount Albion, New York.
He served as a militia man guarding Sackett's Harbor, NY, against attack by the British. Sackett's Harbor Fort was located at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River where it enters Lake Ontario. Controlling the lake depended upon controlling this Fort. On 29 May 1813 a British amphibious force of 800 men attacked the American forces of 600 at the Fort. There were heavy casualties, but the Americans won.
Afterwards he served as a teamster in the War of 1812. Where he and his brothers initially settled was in the wilderness near a place called Newport on the Oak Orchard Road. Later it was crossed by the Erie Canal and the name changed to Albion. Ephraim C. Leonard lived in Gaines, Orleans, New York, in 1855. He lived in Gaines, Orleans, New York, in 1865.

Was he disabled as a result of his service?
