Biography

Phineas Leonard was born about 1791 in West Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He and Abby were married about 1825. He died on 25 March 1870 at age ~79 in Denmark, Lewis County, New York.
He removed to Lowville, Lewis Co., NY, where he is found in the 1850 Census listed as a farmer. Catherine Dewitt Wood, 16, was also living with the family at that time. In the 1860 Census, he had moved to Denmark, Lewis Co., NY. Children had moved out of the house, and two new daughters appear. Phineas is listed as a wheelwright. Name is also spelled Phinehas. Phineas Leonard had person sources.1

Biography

Reuben Leonard was born on 23 April 1791 in West Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He and Julia Ann Matilda Wells were married in 1822 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He died on 26 December 1836 at age 45 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
He married in Montreal in 1822, lived in Cobourg, Ontario in 1823, in Prescott 1828-29, and died in Brantford, Ontario, in 1836. On 7 May 1828 Reuben Leonard of Prescott and wife Julia Ann Matilda Leonard bought 200 acres of land, lot 17, 13th concession, Portland township. Reuben sold the land for a fat profit on 13 June 1834 and moved to Brantford.

From Ontario Archives, Court of Probate, RG22-MS658-reel 54 Matilda Leonard of the village of Brantford, widow, petitioned on 25 Jan 1837, stating that her husband, Reuben Leonard, merchant of Brantford, died intestate in December 1836, leaving her and five children. Requests letters of administration to her late husband's estate. Permission granted. Reuben Leonard had person sources.1

In 1850 Moses was 52 year old farmer living in Concord, Erie Co., NY, with wife Adaline, 42, b. in MA, son Marcus 14, son Edward, 2 1/2, John W., 7/12. Ann Bloomfield, 40, was living with them. In the 1860 Census, they were still living in Concord, minus sons Marcus and Edward. Ann Bloomfield, 50, was still living with them. Moses Leonard had person sources.2
