Frederich Batz was born about 1681 in Germany. He died about 1711 at age ~30 in New York.
Name spelled Batz, Potts, Batzin, Spats.

Ibid: p. 1685, Henry Beekman Account Book, 1719-1730, Potts, Ludwich, 5.1.1727 - 4.9.1730 (as Spats).

It would appear that Frederich and two of the children perished during the journey to New York or shortly after arrival. It also is worth checking as to whether the Gabriel Hoffman family had a daughter, Rebecca, who married Ludwich.
