Christian Baughman, III, was born on 27 April 1807 in Arendtsville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. He and Sarah Ann Willis were married on 2 October 1834 in Muskingham County, Ohio. He and Susannah Groves were married on 26 December 1842. He died on 30 April 1886 at age 79 in Miller township, Knox County, Ohio. He was buried at Brandon Cemetery in Brandon, Knox County, Ohio.

"Christian Baughman, farmer, Miller township, was born in Adams County, Pennsylvania, 27 April 1807. His parents, Christian and Elizabeth Baughman nee Bair, emigrated from Pennsylvania about 1811 and came to Muskingum Co., OH, settling about seven mils south of Zanesville, where they lived and died. They came to this county in a one horse wagon. They had thirteen children, eight of whom are living, one died in infancy. The children were named John (deceased), Jacob (murdered 28 August 1863 in Muskingum Co.), Christian, Joseph (deceased), Adam (deceased), Samuel, Elizabeth (married to Isaac Logan), Solomon, and Jesse.

Mr. Baughman, subject of this notice, was reared on a farm and commenced to assist his father when quite young to clear land. His school was limited, as his parents needed his services and there was but three months' school taught in each year. Mr. Baughman remained in Muskingum County and followed the occupation of farming until February 1850, when he removed to Miller township, Knox county, where he purchased a farm of one hundred and seventy-six acres, and has resided until the present time. Since he has lived here, he has purchased considerable more land and is now one of the largest landowners in the township. He is a good farmer, and his farm shows the work of care and exerience.

He was married three times. His first wife being Sarah Willis, his second was Mary France, and his third wife was Susan Groves. His family consisted of fourteen children, six byhis first wife, namely: Lucinda (married Thomas Osborn), Elizabeth (married Thomas Tarman), David (died in infancy), Jane (married Clem Barber), William (died in infancy), and Caroline (married Adam Williams). By the second marriage there was one child, Mary C., who died in infancy. By the third marriage there were seven children, viz.: Christy, Clare (married Henry Hildreth), Eunice I., Emma (died in infancy), Willie (died in youth), Melissa (married Frank Miller) and Louisa (married Decatur Daily).

Mr. Baughtman has always been a man of temperate and laborious habits, and now, at the age of seventy-four, he enjoys a good health for a man of his years."

Sarah Ann Willis was born on 10 December 1812. Christian Baughman, III, and she were married on 2 October 1834 in Muskingham County, Ohio. She died on 5 February 1843 at age 30. She was buried at Saint John's Lutheran Church cemetery in Stovertown, Muskingum County, Ohio.

Susannah Groves was born on 12 May 1812 in New Hampshire. Christian Baughman, III, and she were married on 26 December 1842.

Susan was born in Vt, as was her father. Her mother was born in RI.

Christian Baughman, II, was born on 26 November 1785 in Germany. He died on 3 August 1836 at age 50 in Brush Creek township, Muskingum County, Ohio. He was buried at Saint John's Lutheran Church cemetery in Stovertown, Muskingum County, Ohio.

Elizabeth Barr was born on 24 January 1785 in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania. She died on 8 November 1866 at age 81 in Brush Creek township, Muskingum County, Ohio.

John Baughman was born on 16 September 1804.

Jacob Baughman was born on 31 October 1805.

Joseph Baughman was born on 11 December 1808.

Adam Baughman was born on 3 February 1810.

George Baughman was born on 14 February 1813.

Johann Christian Bachman was born in 1755 in Baden-Baden, German. He died in 1802 at age ~47 in Menellen township, Adams County, Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth Schnebele was born in 1762 in Germany. She died on 10 February 1861 at age ~99. She was buried at Meals lot, Evergreen Cemetery, in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
