He was directed to defend his possessions in the Welsh marches in 1402/3 against Owen Glendower. He held a number of offices in Cheshire to the middle of the 15th Century and died seized of the land in Sutton, near Macclesfield, the manor of Gawsworth, a forestership inthe Forest of Macclefield, and lands in Bechton as well as in Pownall and Chorley. Then, when the Earl succeeded as King Henry V, Randle was granted two parts of the sergeanty of Macclesfield during the minority of John Davenport, whose family held the hereditary sergeanty.
