He was an original member of the church in Wareham (before 1729). He was dismissed to Sharon, CT, May 30, 1742. He and his brother Thomas bought land in Sharon in 1743-44. He owned a share in the ironworks at Sharon. He resided on the Oblong, across the line from Sharon in Dutchess County, NY. He removed to Lenox, MA, by 1777.
Name is sometimes spelled Hamblen. Isaac Hamlin was born on 1 July 1714.

They lived in Agawam, now Wareham, MA.
According to Mayflower Society records, Joshua and Mercy had three daughters: Lois, Mary, and Elizabeth. Lois married Isaac Cobb and moved to CT.

James came to Banstable from London as a child and lived his life there. He was a farmer. He lived first at Coggins Pond lot, later at Hamlin Plains, West Barnstable. The original Hamlin homestead was occupied by his son Ebenezer and later sold to Col. Gorham.
