Birth may have been 1817. Referred to as John J. Kells, Jr. in 1850. Info from 1850, 1860, and 1870 Censuses. In 1855 NY Census, the family was living in Claverack and John was a farm laborer. Richard Speed, 54, father-in-law?, was living with them in 1850, but not 1855. In 1860 they were living in Mellenville.
There was a John Kells b. 1822, son of William and Mary, otherwise unaccounted for.

Did they also have a child named Burris born abt. 1864 and who probably died before 1870?
In the 1900 Census, Sarah was living with her two daughters in Hudson.
