Biography

Nathaniel Bosworth was born on 4 September 1617 in Market Bosworth, Leicester, England. He and Bridget Bellamy were married in 1645 in Hull, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1 He died on 31 August 1690 at age 72 in Bristol, Rhode Island.2 He was buried at Congregational Churchyard in Bristol, Rhode Island.
He came over as a child with his parents in 1634 on the ship Elizabeth and Dorcas. He settled in Hingham, MA. He was both a cooper and a fisherman and became Deacon of the church at Hull, MA. He and Bridget had 9 children born in Hull and baptized in Hingham. He moved to Bristol in 1683. He bought 1/32nd part of the Mt. Hope lands from the proprietors. He built the first frame house in Bristol on the east side of Hope Street, just north of the bridge across Silver Creek. He became a citizen of Bristol at its first town meeting, along with Benjamin and Edward Bosworth, in 1681 and was first Deacon of the Congregational Church.

A cousin, Benjamin Jones, is mentioned in his will. Will dtd. March 15, 1689/90, probated November 20, 1690, calls him a yeoman, names wife Bridget, 6 sons, and 3 daughters. It mentions his lands in Hull, England. Will of Nathaniel Bosworth dtd. March 15, 1689, proved November 20, 1690. Mentions son Nathaniel eldest, Joseph, John, Jeremy, Bellamy, Edward, dau. Mary Lobdell, Hannah Jacob, and Bridget.

Benjamin Bosworth came from England in 1634, settled in Hingham, MA. Nathaniel Bosworth had person sources.3

Edward Bosworth was born about 1588 in Market Bosworth, Leicester, England. He and Mary Ellis were married in 1610 in Market Bosworth, Leicester, England. He died on 5 August 1634 at age ~46 in Sailing into Boston Harbor.
He left England in 1634 on the "Elizabeth Ann" with his family. Boyer says he died at sea on board the "Elizabeth and Dorcas in the spring of 1634. His children were to repay the passage money borrowed from Henry Sewall in the amount of 20 pounds. The family moved to Hingham in 1635. Jonathan was the first to arrive in America in 1633 from Coventry, Warwickshire. Edward Bosworth had person sources.1

Malcolm II under King James VI the military jurisdiction of Foelis for services rendered is given to Donald Munro and his descendants; George, 1101, Hugh, Robert died 1164, Donald died 1192, Robert died 1239, George died 1282, Robert of Foelis supported Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn in 1314, George died 1333, Robert killed 1369, Hugh, George killed 1454, John, and William killed 1505.
The first Baronet is Sir Hector Munro, the 22nd baron of Fowlis who is conferred 7 Jun 1634 for service of Gustavus Adolphus in Germany. He married Katherine the daughter of Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Kintail and second married Katherine the widow of Donald MacDonald of Slate
