Johan Ludwig Batz was also known as Johann Ludwich Batz. All children but John are substantiated by Ludwich's will: sons: George, Fred, Henry, William, and John. Daughters: Margaret, wife of Philip Clum, Christina, wife of Conrad Loescher, Barbara, wife of George Loesher. (Columbia County Wills, vol 14, p. 116.)

Mary Walsh were married on 19 February 1900 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He died in 1936 at age ~63 in Rhode Island.
In the 1910 Census, the family was living at 29 Cooper Street, Pawtucket, RI. The couple is listed as William and Mary. In the 1920 Census, the family was living at 29 Cooper Street, Pawtucket, RI, where James was a spindle forger for a machine shop. The couple is listed as James and Mary.
James H. is listed in Pawtucket city directories from 1903 until 1942. In the 1903 Directory, he's listed as a blacksmith living at 56 Thornley, Pawtucket. In the 1942 directory, James and Mrs. Mary are listed at 49 Cooper and 51 Cooper, along with several other people (multifamily house?). In the 1934 directory, James' wife is listed as Emma -- James the son of James H.? In the 1924 directory, James H., wife Mary, is listed as a painter. Lillian R. is living there also, listed as a clerk. William D. also, a bookkeeper.
