Biography

Capt. Nathaniel Reynolds was born about 1627 in England. He and Sarah Dwight were married on 30 December 1657 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He and Priscilla Brackett were married after 24 January 1665 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He died on 10 July 1708 at age ~81 in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Nathaniel fought in King Philip's War, in which he was a lieutenant in command of the garrison at Chelmsford, MA, during the fall and winter of 1675/76. He was a cordwainer, as was his father. At the town meeting in Boston in 1655, he was chosen constable. His father's will left him a large amount of property, and the family home on the corner of Washington and Milk streets in Boston. He lived in Boston until ca. 1681, when he and his family removed to Briston where he built a home on the northeast corner of Bradford and Thames streets. He was an original settler of Bristol, one of the founders of the Congregational Church there, and elected grand juryman, sealter of leather, and selectman of Bristol. His will called him "of Bristol." Capt. Nathaniel Reynolds had person sources.1
