Capt. Isaac Phelps was born on 20 August 1638 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. He and Ann Gaylord were married on 11 March 1664 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.1 He and Mary Newberry were married before 1694. He died on 21 September 1725 at age 87 in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.2
Date of their marriage is given as May 11, 1663, in Windsor, CT, records, which calls her Ann Gaylord, and March 11, 1663, in Westfield, MA, records, which calls her Ann Gaylar. He was a freeman in Westfield in 1671. He was town clerk, assessor, surveyor, town treasurer, and school master. He began teaching school at age 64, was 76 when given the title of Capt., and when 86 (1724) chosen town treasurer. Capt. Isaac Phelps had person sources.1
