He was 70 years of age at death. He listed George A. and Emily as next of kin. Almira was his second wife.

He was working as a farm laborer in Seekonk on the farm of Edwin and Mary Sylvester in the 1870 Census. He was born in RI. Almira Worthington, 27, was also living at the farm, along with William Worthington, 12. John H. (Henry?) Leonard married Almira.

The family is listed as living in Seekonk, Bristol Co, MA in the 1880 Census (National Archives T9-0523m oage 197B). John H. is not listed among the children -- dead, away, error, child of someone else?

He may have been a night watchman in a planing mill in the 1880 Census.

The family is listed as living at 332 Jenkins Avenue, East Providence, in the 1900 Census. Fred, Sylvester, and Ida were still living at home.

In the 1920 Census, John H., foreman at a chemical factory, was living 102 Lewis Avenue in the Rumford section of East Providence. Living with him were his son, Frederick, 45, a carpenter at a chemical factory, daughter Ada, 28, unemployed, and son Raymond, 20, a teamster at a chemical factory. No wife is mentioned. The children were born in Massachusetts (probably Seekonk). John Henry ("J. Henry") Leonard lived in Seekonk, Bristol, Massachusetts, in 1880. He lived in ED 126 East Providence town, Providence, Rhode Island, in 1900. He lived in East Providence, Rhode Island, in 1910. He lived in East Providence, Providence, Rhode Island, in 1920.

John H. Leonard was born on 16 December 1876 in Rhode Island. He died on 12 April 1928 at age 51 in Rhode Island.¹

He was 52 at death and listed George and Emily Leonard as next of kin.

A John H. Leonard married Anna Hyllestad August 30, 1887, in RI, but I can't fit them into our family. Also, there was a John H. Leonard born November 5, 1876, from Gallway, Ireland, living at 16 Earl Street in Providence and working as a fireman for Gorham Mfg. Co. in Elmwood.

It's doubtful Elvin and John were born on the same day and died on the same day -- something wrong here.

Almira Webster Colvin was born on 4 June 1841 in Warwick, Kent, Rhode Island. John Henry ("J. Henry") Leonard and she were married on 28 March 1872 in Seekonk, Massachusetts. She died on 3 March 1917 at age 75 in East Providence, Providence, Rhode Island.

There is confusion as to whether her father was Sylvester Worthington or Sylvester Colvin; her mother Mary Webster or Mary Colvin. Almira Webster Colvin was born in June 1841 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She died before 1920.

Hannah Sprout was born in 1759 in Middleborough, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Gideon Leonard and she were married on 19 September 1782 in Middleborough, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Published 24 June 1782, "Mr. Gideon Leonard and Miss Hannah Sproutt both of Middleborough." p. 100.¹ She died on 12 May 1840 at age ~81 in Middleborough, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.^2,3 She was buried in Lakeville Cemetery (Thompson's Hill), Lakeville, Massachusetts.⁴
