Biography

Henry Leonard was born on 1 July 1746 in Ulster County or Orange County, New York. He was living in Little Britton, New Windsor, Ulster Co., NY, when he joined the Revolutionary Army in 1775. There is an extensive file on him on Fold3.com. He served for 3* years and saw action at Ticonderoga, Montreal, Germantown, and many other historic battles. The Fold3 file includes the names of his sons and their places of residence as of 1846, but not their birthdates nor spouses' names. His wife had died before he applied for a pension in 1834. He died on 11 April 1839 at age 92.
He was a cordwainer by trade. He may have been a son of Silas Leonard, who lived in Orange Co.

He fought in the Rev. War, died 11 April 1839, and left a number of children.

Morris Leonard was born about 1797 in DE or PA. He and Laura Goodell were married on 29 March 1817. He died in 1874 at age ~77 in Canaseraga, Allegany County, New York. He was buried in 1874 at Canaserago Cemetery (grave stone) in Canaseraga, Allegany County, New York.
He lived in Burns, Allegany Co., NY in 1846 and at the time of the 1860 Census.
