Job Sidney Leonard was born on 24 May 1845 in Cattaraugus County, New York. He and Lydia May Harvey were married about 1882. He died on 30 November 1934 at age 89 in Little Valley, Cattaraugus County, New York.
In the 1850 Census, Job and Fernando were living with the Larrabee family, their mother, and their stepfather in Otto, Cattaraugus Co., NY. Both he and his brother do not appear in the 1860 and 1870 Censuses, at least under the Leonard name.

OBITUARY NOTICES: LEONARD.— Job  Sydney  Leonard was  horn  in  East  Otto,  New  York,  May 24,  1845 ;  and  died  of  old  age  in  Little Valley,  New  York,  October  30,  1934.  In 1881  Mr.  Leonard  married  Lida  May Harvey.  Of  this  union  ten  children were born,  seven  of  whom  survive.  Mrs. Mary  Van  Slyke,  Mrs.  Grace  Meister, Welcome  Leonard  live  in  Jacksonville, Florida ;  Mrs.  Belle Blackman,  Mrs.  Elva Cross,  live  in  Little  Valley,  New  York; Mrs.  Bessie  Webb  lives  in  Jefferson, Texas;  and  Mrs.  Ethel  Wightman,  at Niagara  Falls.  Besides  these  children who  sustain  his  loss  there  is  one  sister, Mrs.  Emiline  Wallace  of  Cattaraugus, New  York ;  also  twenty-six  grandchildren  and  two  great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Leonard died six years ago.

Mr.  Leonard  served  his  country  as  a cavalryman  in  the  Civil  War,  and  was rewarded  by  the  government  for  assist ing in the  capture of Jefferson Davis,  the president  of  the  Southern  Confederacy. He  also  fought  in  a  number  of  war engagements  during  the  war,  but  he would  prefer  to  be  remembered  as  a soldier  of  Christ.  He  accepted  the  third angel's  message  about  1890,  and  enjoyed a  good  Christian  experience  until  his death.  He  spent  many  years  in  colporteur  work. The 1860 Census shows a Sarah Sconard (bad transcription -- name is clearly Leonard), 26, living with Philo Millard and family, along with a George Atwood. Chester died in 1859. Philo Millard became her second husband. George Atwood was her brother. Only her son George was living with her -- the five daughters were put out to other families.-.

George Herman Leonard was born on 12 October 1859 in Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin.1 He and Mattie DeFaut were married on 4 October 1882 in Clay Banks, Door County, Wisconsin. He and Adeline Duncan Church were married on 10 May 1889. He died on 14 May 1928 at age 68 in Drummond Island, Chippewa County, Michigan.
After Chester died in 1859, there was a Sarah Leonard, 26, b. NY, in the 1860 Census with a son, George, 1, b. WI, living with the Philo Millard family in Racine. There was also a George Atwood, 35, fruit dealer, her brother, living there.

According to Leona Leonard DeKeyser, George was raised as a Millard in Door Co., WI, for many years. He moved to Drummond Island, MI, before 1889. He was a boat builder and tug boat captain. In later life he owned a small store on the Drummond Island Ferry Dock.

George's marriage to Mattie Defaut ended in divorce 26 Nov 1888.

He married Adeline Church in 1889. George and Adeline had 5 children, of which 2 were alive in 1900.
