Biography

John Leonard was born on 14 May 1764 in Mendham, Morris County, New Jersey. He and Mary Pitney were married about 1788 in Morris County, New Jersey. He died on 4 February 1831 at age 66 in Morrow County, Ohio. He was buried in Ovid Union Cemetery, Ovid, Seneca, New York.

This is an educated guess -- that John was the son of Benjamin. John named his second son Benjamin, either after his father or his father-in-law. But John could have been the son of William or Caleb. William already has a son John, about whom nothing is known. Caleb's children are all listed, and there's no John.

He may be buried in Ovid Union Cemetery.
