Richard Card was born about 1620 in Churston Ferrers, Devon, England. He and
Rebecca Richards were married in 1648 in Newport, Newport County, Rhode Island. He died before 1 July 1674.
Richard was in Newport by 1653, when he served as a juryman. In 1655 he was a freeman of Newport. He was one of the original grantees of Conanicut Island (Jamestown) in 1656.

Apollos Leonard

Prudence ("Sally") White were married in 1771. He died on 11 March 1799 at age 54 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
3 He was buried in North Burial Ground, Providence, Rhode Island.
Apollos was a graduate of Yale, 1765, and received an honorary A.M. in 1770. He received an honorary A.M. from Harvard in 1786 and from Brown in 1791. He was County Treasurer for a number of years. "Said to have been a very congenial and companionable man."
No further info has been found on the last six children, casting doubt as to their existence. They are listed in Raynham VR's, p. 47 (old page 68, continued from page 67). They were born well after Apollos and Sally's other children and most after Apollos had died. They may be the children of Apollos White and his wife, Sally. Apollos Leonard had person sources.
