Mr. Blanding contributed money to the town to assist the expedition against the Indians 1675-76. He married September 4, 1674, Bethia Wheaton, and their children of Rehoboth record, were: William, of whom further; Samuel, April 11, 1680; Obadiah, April 15, 1683; Daniel, October 25, 1685; John, June 20, 1687; Ephraim, Oct 30, 1689; Noah, March 7, 1690. William Blanding had person sources.

Augustus Osbourn Bourn was born on 1 October 1834 in Providence, Rhode Island. He and
Elizabeth Roberts Morrill were married on 24 February 1863. He died on 28 January 1925 at age 90 in Providence, Rhode Island.
He was a graduate of Brown, 1855, Phi Beta Kappa. He initially worked for his father's firm, Bourn, Bourn, and Chaffee, and later became one of the pioneers in the rubber business. In 1861 he incorporated his business under the name of the Providence Rubber Co. and in 1864 established a plant in Bristol. It became the National Rubber Co. and is part of United States Rubber.
He was elected a State Senator from Bristol several terms and was twice chosen Governor of the State of RI. He was Consul General in Rome in 1889. He entered the militia as a young man and became a lieutenant colonel. The family all lived at their homestead in Bristol, "Seven Oaks."
In the 1920 Census, the whole family was still living together at Seven Oaks. Stephen was President of the Rubber Co., while Augustus Sr. was Treasurer. Augustus Jr. was a lawyer in private practice.
