He was possibly born at Panfield, Essex, on 28 Ocrtober 1591, but that is not proven. He came over to America on the "Anne" in 1623, living first in Plymouth and moving to Eastham by 1645. He was an Innkeeper. The first vessel built at Plymouth was a barque of 40 or 50 tons, and Edward Bangs contributed to its construction.
