Biography

Sarah Leonard was born on 21 May 1680 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 Benjamin Newland and she were married on 23 July 1702 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.2 Ebenezer Eddy and she were married in 1730. She died in Norton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
The Eddy Family in America identifies Sarah Leonard as marrying (2) Joseph Eddy and possibly marrying (2) Ebenezer Eddy. The reference to marrying Ebenezer is the Leonard Genealogy, p. 84 and also p. 884. Her birth date is given as May 21, 1680, which would have made her the daughter of Benjamin2, James1. Her death date is given as abt. 1715 in ECL's work, but she couldn't have married Ebenezer Eddy in 1730 if she had died in 1715. Also, she supposedly outlived Joseph Eddy who died in 1759. Check for children from marriage to Benjamin Newland. Benjamin would have been born before they were married. Fanny Leonard Koster has her marrying FNU Eddy.

She is sometimes mistaken for the Sarah Leonard who married Samuel Perry of Sandwich. That Sarah was a daughter of Solomon Leonard of Bridgewater.
