Biography

Mehitable Leonard was born about 1705 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. John Willis and she were married on 28 May 1728 in Easton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. Capt. Nathaniel Perry and she were married on 2 December 1736. She died on 2 September 1797 at age ~92 in Easton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 She was buried in 1797 at Dr Edward Dean Cemetery in Easton, Bristol, Massachusetts.
Information about Mehitable and her two husbands is from Brad Clark of Sacramento, CA, a descendant, on July 19, 2004. He quotes main source as W. L. Chaffin's History of Easton (1886). She lived in Easton, MA. "Evin's Meadow is frequently named in early record. It is the low land west of the old Nathaniel Perry place, near the Mansfield line. It became the property of Lt. James Leonard, then of this daughter, Mehitable, who married John Willis, and on his death married Capt. Nathaniel Perry." (p. 15.) "Through her, Capt. Perry became owner of "Perry Place," so called, on Highland Street, west of the Furnace Village, this having been the gift of Lt. James Leonard to Mehitable, when she married John Willis." (p. 161) ECL gives Mehitable's birthdate was abt. 1713. She was 92 when she died. Mehitable Leonard had person sources.2
